Story of a storybook

Here I am getting scanned by the counter because a family of three took me off the shelf and decided to buy me. Opps, I forgot to introduce myself, I am a storybook for the children. Every year I watched people of all ages whizzing past me. It is until one day a family of three bought me, as I was in a toddler's hands I was excited to be able to be read. Every night the mother would read the toddler a story before he sleeps.

I am well kept by my owner, Nicholas, nowadays he will read a story by himself before he turn in to bed.

Time past quickly and it has been 20 years, I am now past down to a young pre-schooler named Alice. She have kept me well, now Nicholas have been reading her the stories like his mother read to him in the past. Alice now is a prolific reader because she finds stories interesting.

Everything was fine until the day came, the day I would not have imagine came. I am now sitting in the dustbin. Would you like to know what had happen? While Alice was drinking her hot chocolate, she accidentally spilt the hot chocolate on me, all my pages were wet. Alice was shocked and she asked her father what to do and the father said to throw me away. I would not have expected him to say that because of our bond, before he threw me away he said 'goodbye'. As I fall into the darkness I felt betrayed but happy at the same time because I knew I have fufiled my role as a storybook, I smiled and thought to myself that my story with thier family would have been my last chapter of my book.
